Dalaga Na Ako!

When my Mommy asks me if I am already a dalaga I will raise my eyebrows instead of saying yes, Mommy.
This is how I feel.
I feel that I am already a lady--although I am still two years old.
So I eat more rice and fish. Or sip soup.
I also drink milk. I no longer drink milk in my beberon. But in my glass.
Not really a glass, but a plastic glass.
Before, I would ask for milk when I woke up in the evening. But since I am already a lady, I drink milk before I go to sleep. And I no longer ask for milk when I wake up in the middle of the night.

My Other Love

My first love is my parents. My Mommy and my Daddy.
My second love is my Nanay, Tatay, Titos, and Titas.
When they are not around, I feel sad. Especially my Daddy and Mommy.
When I wake up and they are not around, I cry even if my Tatay or Nanay comes to me.
When I am told that my parents are not around, I have to accept that they are not around, so I just play with whoever is around.
My other love is singing. When I discovered that we have a microphone, although not functioning, I held it and I sung and sung, especially Bahay Kubo and Dandansoy.
And lately, my Mommy bought me a box of crayon. So now I keep on drawing in my coloring books, never mind if I do not see the borders. I do not realize that anyway. I do not know its importance.

My Yaya (Part II)

My Yaya went home today.
My mother said that she would just go home and would return soon. If she can't come back and be my Yaya again, she would bring along a substitute to take care of me.
It is good that my Daddy has returned from Manila. If not, it would have been difficult for me and my Mommy.

My New Me

I do not know why I am always in tandrum.
Perhaps it is because of my growing up. When I do something, sometimes I just cannot do it because it is not right to my Nanay or Tatay and to the rest of the people in our home.
So sometimes, I put off the tv while my Tatay or Nanay is watching it. Or I just get the mouse of our computer while my Tito Nonoy or my Tatay is working in the computer.
It is possibly because I just need somebody to talk with.
And if nobody gives me attention, I do something that breaks their routine.

My Grandparents

I have four grandparents: two from my mother's side, and another two from father's side.

I call my grandmother from my mother's side Lola. I call my grandfather from my mother side, Lolo.

I do not call my grandparents from my father's side Lolo or Lola. I call them: Nanay and Tatay.

My grandfather from my mother side came from Barotac Viejo, while my Nanay comes from Antique, and my Tatay, from Aklan.

I do not know the educational background of my Lolo and my Lola, but my Nanay and Tatay are both college graduate. My Nanay is a licensed librarian and so is my Tatay. My Tatay is known as the Father of Aklanon Literature. He is also called as the Man of Words. He is a multi-awardee poet.

But I love all my grandparents. I really enjoy when my Lolo and Lola visit me in Iloilo. I ran to them, and embrace them even if they do not bring me any gift.

When Nanay and Tatay come home from work, I rush to them, and show them anything that I hold: biscuits, new slippers, anything.

Later, I will tell you more about them--one by one.
