Sean Marie, My Granddaughter
I would like to believe that Sean Marie (she prefers to be called Nene) is a talented child.
At 2 years and four months, she can now open the icon for the Counter Strike game, and proceed playing with it. She can press the right key to buy ammunition and she can control the computer mouse to strike the enemy.
She can count from one to ten in English and in Hiligaynon. She can also sing Dandansoy, My Toes My Knees complete with actions. She can determine whether her slipper is for the right or the left foot. She can unlease the shoelace of her shoes.
And she volunteers to do everything that you are doing.
And when we talk about her tandrum, she knows that she is the one being talked about.
And any other child of her age, she has a tandrum. When she is at the height of her anger, she would throw anything that she holds. But in a little while, she would be be smiling again.
If you have a camera, she wants to take you a picture. With a cellphone with a camera, she knows how to take a picture --at times of course, you have no head.
And when you take her a picture, she poses like a model, with all those sweet smile and her right foot lifted across her.
She likes to sing. So one time, I gave her a bottle of a baby powder and she used it as her microphone. Following the singers she sees in tv, she would sing and dance like a real singer.
What an enjoyment when you are with Sean Marie.

Me and Ms. Rachael Ningas
See My Medal
I Am Now A UPV Alumna
Mommy and I were marching for my graduation.
I am now a UP Visayas alumna!
This morning, I received my certificate of graduation for my Day Care Class.
And I was so happy.
My Mommy, my Tatay Mel, my Nanay Bing and Tita Inday were at my graduation rite at the the Balay-Balay.
My award: Most Well-Behaved.
Our graduation speaker was Mrs. Jaen, a UPV alumna.
She talked on the human senses.
She enumerated 12 senses--I thought there were only five.
She said the following senses:
1.Sense of life
2. Sense of balance
3. Sense of movement
4. Sense of touch
5. Sense of warm
6. Sense of hearing
7. Sense of smell
8. Sense of taste
9. Sense of language
10.Sense of thought
11.Sense of ego.
12. Sense of seeing.
In our program, we acted like a fish.
This is what we said. But I can't recall the whole piece now.
Here is a part of it:
Four little fishes, swimming in the sea.
Teasing Mr. Shark: "You can't catch me."
Hello Mr. Shark and keep quiet.

I Again Visited the Manghihilot
For more than two weeks, I had cough.
My mother told me that it was due to the cold season.
I regularly took my medicine. But the cough would not leave me.
More so when I fell down again.
So again, my Nanay Bing and Tatay Mel brought me to my favorite manghihilot. He told me I had kibit--a little dislocation on my chest. Nanay Bing gave him a little token. He does not ask for any payment. Any amount would do.
after that short visit, I felt good again. I played around the house. I jumped and run and run.

My New Bike
I have been wishing to own a bike.
When my Mommy or my Daddy, or my Tatay Mel and Nanay Bing would bring me to SM City, the first place that I wanted to go was the place where bikes for children are displayed. I would ride on one of them and pedalled it, although I could not do much. I would not leave that place. And even if my Mommy would tell me to follow her because we had to buy my milk or my favorite drink,Choco, I would be hesitant.
But of course I had to go with her.
My Daddy is still in Makati.
When I talked with my Daddy over the phone, I would always tell him to buy a bike, yong pink. And of course, he would always say , he would. And he would tell me to be a good girl. And of course, I would always tell him, I would.
But one day, I noticed that my Tatay Mel had not arrived yet. And it was already dark. I missed him, as always because he would always look for me when he arrives home from school.
Then to my surprise, I saw Tito Janno, my uncle, carrying a bike. Tito Janno lives with us as he is studying in the city.
He told me, Tatay Mel bought me a bike. I heard him say that.--A bike!
I knew it was mine. I immediately run to him, and held the bike.
Oh, how happy I was. I immediately rode on it. And biked around our house.
I did not want to part from it, even when Mommy told me to have my supper.
Because I had to eat my supper, I brought the bike very near to my chair as I ate my supper.
I hurriedly ate my supper, and again on my bike and soon I was again riding on it.
Oh, how I sweated that night. My Mommy would always follow me to wipe the sweat on my back.
When it was about time to sleep, about 10:30, I told my Mommy that my bike be brought to my room.
So it was brought upstairs.
But it had to be parked at the corridor, instead in our room. I did not like it. But I had to obey. I am a good girl, isn't it?
The following day, my Mommy went home early. We went to the nearly plaza of the Great Vission Church. There I biked and biked until my Mommy got tired of following me.
Then we went home. And reported the event to Tatay Mel when he arrived from work.

I Miss My Daddy
I always ask my Mommy why my Daddy is not going home when evening comes.
She will always tell me that my Daddy is in Makati working so that I can go to school and I can have milk.
But even then I always look for him especially when I am about to go to sleep.
It's good that my Mommy is always assuring me that soon my Daddy will come home.
I am also thankful that we have a telephone, so every day I can talk to him. But sometimes I do not feel like talking to him.
Yesterday, while playing outside of our house, I suddenly fell down. Again, I have a bruised knee. Of course, I cried. Good that my Tatay Mel was always there to comfort me. He would carry me, and says: "It's OK. It's OK." He applied betadine. This is a liquid medicine for wound. It's not painful when it is applied to cuts. But my knee swell a little. My Mommy was at work.
I might visit the manghihilot again.
Last month, my Tita Inday Vaness and my Daddy went home for a short vacation. They brought home so many breads. I was so happy, I could embrace my Daddy and could sleep beside him--at least for four days.
But he had to leave again. Mommy and I sent him to SM City where he took a van for the airport.
So I would not cry, Mommy bought me a big ball. I could not fully hug it. I gladly showed it to my Nanay Bing and Tatay Mel when I reached home.
